Sociology of Childhood – Theorising Childhood
The Research Network, Sociology of Children and Childhood hereby announces the mid-term symposium which will take place in Jyväskylä (Finland) from 18th to 20th June, 2012. The organisation of the symposium will be undertaken at the University of Jyväskylä.

Instructions
The abstracts must be written in English, be at most 400 words, and include 3-5 keywords. Please submit your abstract and full contact details as electronic files no later than the 28th February 2012. Send the abstract to Tom Cockburn (t.d.cockburn@bradford.ac.uk).
The deadline for notification for abstracts is 31st March 2012.

RN04 - Sociology of Children and Childhood

The Research Network aims to bring together scholars across Europe who are engaged in both theoretical and empirical work on children and childhood. We have organised successful Sociology of Childhood Streams at the last six ESA Conferences (1999-
2009). The general theme of the 2011 conference is ‘social relations in turbulent times’, and the various sessions will address children’s lives and social relations in the context of societal change. We invite abstracts on the following themes:

1. Children’s social relations and everyday lives
2. Children as victims, witnesses and perpetrators of crime and violence
3. Children and migration
4. Child poverty and child work
5. Children’s rights, citizenship and participation
6. Trust dynamics in children’s lives
7. Theoretical and methodological issues in researching childhood and children’s lives
8. Open theme

CFP: Enfance et cultures : regards des sciences humaines et sociales

Le Département des études, de la prospective et des statistiques (Ministère de la culture et de la communication) et l’Association internationale des sociologues de langue française (comité de recherche 31 Sociologie de l’enfance) s’associent pour organiser un colloque international. Celui-ci s’inscrit dans les 9emes journées de sociologie de l’enfance de l’AISLF. Ce colloque durera 3 jours (une journée de conférences plénières, 2 jours de sessions de travail) et se tiendra à Paris en décembre 2010.
